SkyWatch Friday

Similkameen Skies

This afternoon we lost our telephone service to a lightening strike for the second time in a month.

Here are the noisy, grumbling clouds that accompanied the spectacular lightening!!

There were a number of strikes in the hills that caused small fires, but luckily
the rain came down in great cascading sheets
and all seems well now,
except we have no landline!

For more exciting skies from around the world click here

  1. losing the telephone connection to the rain and lightning sounds so familiar! happens all the time here too.... and i love the last pic! the clouds appear so close!

  2. Oh, those are grumpy skies indeed, Hildred, but what great captures for the day! Sorry about the loss of telephone service! That's always an inconvenience. At least the rains help to prevent forest fires and we've certainly seen terrible ones here in the states! Hope you have a peaceful, beautiful weekend!

  3. it happens here all the time, too, during typhoon season...which we are having right now. such dramatic skies. stay safe!

  4. Fabulous views, fires and phone outages are not one of the nicer byproducts of skies like these, thanks for sharing with SWF
