Similkameen Skies
By mid afternoon the other day clouds began to gather ominously, and the weather stations in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys were broadcasting severe storm warnings.
At supper time the sun highlighted a few prominent slopes
but by 7.45 we were in the midst of as cloud burst, with the water streaming down in sheets,
and Callie, the cat, wide eyed at the noise of the deluge, snuggled under the duvet on our bed,
safe and sound.
after twenty minutes of cascading water the sun coloured the clouds
and I caught an image of the faintest rainbow over the Cawston hills
I have been told I missed some spectacular
clouds in the west for a short time, and my granddaughter says on Facebook that she saw a double rainbow, accompanied by lightning strikes.
We weren't done with the storm yet. All night the thunder rumbled
and the sky was rent with great streaks of lightning.
Callie was glad to see clear skies the next morning!

Wow, amazing storm story with beautiful accompanying photos. And if your Callie is anything like the Wikipedia facsimile, she must be a very lovely Calico.
