A misty November day..
In the morning the sky is a-blush, but the mist hugs the valley floor in the Cawston Basin.
Later in the morning we cross the pass to Penticton where the clouds wind around the hills
and through the valleys.......
and rises as steam off Yellow Lake
Coming along the bypass on the way into town an osprey circles above, preparing to land
on its telephone pole nest.
On the way home we pass Luscious Lake in the sunshine
and eventually the road curves and we are in sight of K Mountain, where a few angelic clouds still linger.
A typical November day in the Similkameen, as it was when I first saw this country in the fall of 1943
when I came home with Charles on his embarkation leave and we became engaged.
What a long time ago that was, but the country maintains its rugged beauty
and the Similkameen Skies are a constant surprise.
Fro more wonderful skies visit
here, at Skywatch Friday..
